UPDATE: Rhinelander Woman Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Hire A Hitman

Friday morning 2/16/18 update from Rhinelander Police..

Yesterday, February 15, 2018, detectives from the Rhinelander Police Department arrested 27 year old Megan M. Danielczak for solicitation to commit First Degree Intentional Homicide of her husband.

Megan Danielczak was arrested in the City of Tomahawk, WI, at her place of work with the assistance of the Tomahawk Police Department. Detectives initially spoke with a concerned citizen who had received information that Danielczak was looking for someone to kill her husband. Upon receiving the information detectives opened up an investigation on February 6, 2018.

On February 9, 2018, Rhinelander detectives met with a citizen witness who subsequently was able to obtain information on Mr. Danielczak’s vehicle, a photo of him, and his work schedule from Megan Danielczak. Megan Danielczak subsequently met with an undercover DCI agent on February 14, 2018, whom she understood to be a “hit-man,” and made a down payment to him to kill her husband. Based on the totality of this investigation, investigators believe that a motivating factor in this case was financial gain. Investigators received information that Danielczak’s husband has a life insurance policy through his place of employment in which Megan Danielczak is named the beneficiary. Investigators are following up in this information. Megan Danielczak is expected to have an initial appearance today in Oneida County Circuit Court at 1:15 p.m. It should be stressed that there is a presumption of innocence on Megan Danielczak’s behalf until proven otherwise through full adjudication in a court of law. .

A Rhinelander woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to hire a hitman to have her husband killed.

Rhinelander Police report the arrest of 27 year old Megan M. Danielczak for solicitation fo commit First Degree Intentional Homicide. She was taken into custody in Tomahawk.

The complaint alleges Megan Danielczak met with an undercover agent from the Wisconsin Department of Justice on Wednesday in Rhinelander and made a payment to the agent posing as a hitman. The agreement allegedly was to pay half now, and the rest when her husband was dead.

Megan Danielczak is in the Oneida County Jail and will be in court Friday. Rhinelander Police received assistance from the Oneida County Sheriff's Department and the Wisconsin Department of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigation.
